We are told every day about global warming we are told how bad it is and what has caused it . what is sad is more time is spent telling us what not to use and what we should be doing than telling us how to cut this effect and some of the suggestions are quite expensive to implement.

Did you know led power is so much more efficient than what most of us use daily now this is in terms of cost to your pocket and to the environment, I bet most of you hadn’t even thought about led’s or what we can use them for.

Do you know what led stands for? I looked it up in the oxford English dictionary and this is what I found.

The L.E.D. or Light Emitting Diode is an electronic semiconductor device that emits light when an electric current passes through it. L.E.D.s are more efficient than incandescent lamps, and are fast becoming more efficient than fluorescent lamps lending themselves increasingly as general sources of light.

But this does not tell you how led lighting is being used in more and more lighting situations in fact some whole towns in some parts of America are using leds to cut global warming and reduce costs read more on the future development page of this site.

Long gone are the limitations of past era’s .led can be adapted for the common household lighting to lighting towns roads and this is a good thing in terms of the environment because of the long lasting life of each led unit.

For example each led does not need to be replace as often (as it lasts longer and is more tolerable to shocks) cutting back on labour costs and time but it also is much more directional which means it causes much less light pollution and of cause this makes it so much easier and cheaper for town councils to budget for possibly allowing them to stay in budget or spend funds on other projects for a much greener environment.

You don’t need to be a large town council to want to take advantage of this you can light your home with led lighting. Your garden could be light scaped with led lighting lighting up trees , shrubs, ornaments patios and of course ponds much cheaper than you could just a few short years ago.
